^agreed. Not sure how you can think he's a GC. Not that I watched the whole thing, but watching him cut that fence with bolt cutters made me want to go and knock the cunt out.

I suggest you guys watch the complete movie. I found it quite insightful as to the motivations of people like him.

The guy basically has nothing, save his painting. It's easy to get all huffy about him painting up property that isn't his... a little more difficult to see the social context in which he does this, y'know, the larger picture.

Plus those trains look fucking sweet all painted up. It's not like its your granny's fence or your business.. Whats wrong with a bit of colour? It doesn't actually affect the operation of the trains in any way.

I've spent a wee bit of time in Melbourne, and the graffiti they have over there is amazing - really adds character to the city.
The graffiti on the train lines is like a continually-evolving art gallery that whizzes past as you travel.

It would seem I am not the only one to appreciate it..

Not all that keen on getting into big debate etc, I just think the movie is a really good watch.. Everyone should give it a whirl, especially if they don't like taggers :D

People are bound to disagree with me about this, but I do believe that keying someone's car and graffing public transport is different. A car is a private individual's property, the trains are a public asset/owned by a large corporate. No one is being personally wronged when this guy does his thing.

Before anyone starts, I am aware that all businesses are made up of stakeholders, who are all people.. but it's not the same.

It's not.
Businesses aren't people.

Watch the movie, and keep an open mind ;)

I just finished watching them all.
I do like the skill and imagination that goes into these pieces of art though i dont like little toe rag keents who tag your fence then push your rubbish bin over and this is where people get confused about the difference. I think the trains look amazing once painted and add a real cultural touch even if that culture is one you dont like.
Keying a car is different as the key scrape itself looks like shit though if someone keyed my car the entire length in a style matched to whats painted on those trains i would be a little less annoyed (though still pissed as it is my property and no ones expects/deserves that).

I can appreciate the skill that goes into the murals on the side of the trains, but i lost all respect when they were tagging the inside of the trains with black marker pens, no merit in that at all, it's just like a dog cocking it's leg to mark territory, and anyone who says otherwise is seriously deluded.

Other than that, some of those trains were amazing.

I totally disagree (who woulda guessed  )re: the difference in property, no one needs to be "wronged" personally, the fact is that the property isn't his (he doesn't pay taxes clearly- has no public right either imo) to make the decision as to whether he leaves his tag on it or not. I find that fairly shitty, but I love the look, it'd be cool to see both sides of the coin work together and make it legitimate.

Sweet links, cheers, and shot for not getting fired up when presented with a pretty stunning display of ignorance
